Postpartum Doulas
A Postpartum doula provides families educational information and support on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth, infant soothing, and coping skills on navigating as new parents. Some Postpartum doulas may also help with light housework, fix a meal and help incorporate an older child into this new experience.

Schedule & Rates
Postpartum doulas typically work either 5-10 hours during the day or overnight. Terms vary in length between 2-6 weeks; on average families hire a postpartum doula for approximately 16 weeks (or until their baby is successfully sleeping through the night). Depending on experience, qualifications, and number of children (singleton or multiples) rates for postpartum doula can range from $30-$60/hr.
